An activation email from your school
Scholiyo Connect has no sign-up and no password. Your school office sends the private link and QR that connect you to your children.
A camera, if you prefer scanning
Scanning the QR in the email needs the camera. Tapping the link in the same email does not, so a phone without camera access still works.
Five steps, once
Installing it on your phone

Download the app on the phone that will use it
Open this page on the Android phone itself — scan the QR beside the download button if you are reading this on a computer — and tap the download button. A file downloaded to a computer has to be copied to the phone before anything else can happen.

Keep the file when your browser asks
Android warns about files of this type because it did not come from Google Play. Choose to keep or download it anyway. This is the same warning every app installed outside the store produces.

Open the downloaded file
Tap it in the download notification, or find it under Files, then Downloads. The file name ends in .apk.

Allow this one install
Android asks whether your browser or file app may install apps. Choose to allow it, then come back and tap Install. You can switch the permission off again afterwards.

Open Scholiyo Connect and connect to your school
Tap the private link in your school’s invitation email or text message on this phone, or scan the QR from that email in the app. You’ll see your school and children before anything is connected.
Nothing to type in. Scholiyo Connect has no username and no password. The activation email is what proves you are the guardian your school recorded, which is why one is needed per school and per phone.

They scan it to open this page on their own phone. They will still need an activation email from their school.
Questions guardians ask
Will the app update itself?
No. An app installed this way does not update from Google Play, so come back to this page when your school tells you a newer version is available and install it over the top. Your connected schools stay connected.
What happens when the Google Play listing goes live?
This page will point at it. Moving to the store version may require removing this one first, and after removing the app each school sends a fresh activation email before your children appear again.
My activation link says it expired.
Activation links are valid for ten minutes and one use, which is what keeps someone else from connecting to your children. Ask your school office to send another one.
My children are at different schools.
Each school sends its own activation email. Add them from Add school inside the app, and every school stays separate with its own connection.
Is there an iPhone version to download?
Not from this page. The app supports iPhone and iPad, and the App Store release is not out, so there is nothing to install on iOS yet. If your school sends attendance messages by SMS, those keep arriving on any phone.
Where should I download the app from?
Only from this page on scholiyo.com. Nobody at Scholiyo or at your school will ever send you an app file by email or chat, or ask you for a password for the app.
